Somerset is a bilingual community of about 440 people nestled in the center of the Municipality of Lorne. Somerset has many services to offer residents and tourist which include a Fuel Station, a Restaurant, a Bank, a Hotel, a Drive Inn, Two Churches, a Grocery Store, a Campground, and a Clinic which houses a Doctor, Dentist, Public Health, Message Therapy, Physiotherapy, & Foot Care. As available are mechanical repairs shops and a thrift store. The Town also has family fun stops, such as Somerset Lorne Citizens Museum, a play structure located on the grounds of the High School, a Splash Park, and an in-town walking trail.
